Why so good? One reason is their purity and potency. No additives… no coloring… no pharmaceuticals… no alterations… no contaminants. You’d think that would be obvious but, increasingly, that’s not the case. More and more, herbal products are becoming tainted.
The Los Angeles Times published a lengthy investigation into herbal integrity, using an independent laboratory. For example, 10 leading brands of St. John’s Wort were tested. Result? Seven had significantly less active ingredients than were promised on the label… three delivered less than 50%. (One brand had just 20% of the labeled potency.) Another test...
The California Dept. of Health Services has tested 261 herbal medicines. A quarter contained heavy metal contamination and/or pharmaceuticals.
These and other tests confirm that the herbal industry is becoming corrupted. In fact, some herbs are so diluted and altered, they have little healing value. People are swallowing near-placebos.
Herbal products might also contain nutritional extras that look good in advertising, but which don’t make any sense because they’re just fillers. It’s like buying Kellogg’s Special K to obtain your daily vitamins and minerals. CRAZY!
