Among most professional herbalists and acupuncturists, one brand stands above all the others: Plum Flower.

Most of the products sold by The Healing Herbs of China © are the Plum Flower brand -- probably the finest herbs produced in China.

Plum Flower is the brand of choice for those who can afford the best--in business, sports, the media and the professions.

There’s a good reason for this passionate loyalty.

No other company, anywhere, goes to such lengths to blend traditional formulas… with hygienic, scientifically-monitored processing… to meet modern ailments that hardly existed two or three generations ago.

It’s a lengthy, time-consuming process…

• Sorting And Cleaning. After wild herbs have been gathered, they’re sorted, washed, dried and stored. (Though a few herbs are never washed.) Most herbs are dried in direct sunshine. During the rainy season, they may be dried indoors around a fire, while aromatics (like mint) are dried in well-ventilated shade.

When they are thoroughly dry, the plants are sliced and shaped for storage. Thick roots, rhizomes and vines are cut into thin slices. Barks and leaves are shaved into long, fine strips. Whole plants are divided into sections. Flowers and seeds are stored and shipped whole.

• Blending herbal recipes. Plum Flower follows tradition by first cooking the highest quality herbs together as a tea to create a complex interaction. (Easier and quicker for your body to absorb the medicinal properties.) This is the ancient, time-tested method.

These elaborate recipes often involve many reductions, with herbs being added at different times. Plum Flower follows these traditional recipes precisely, taking infinite care to preserve the resulting essence, which is then concentrated into pills.

Other companies use a simpler process. They extract the essence from each herb individually, then combine the powders into a pill. While all of the ingredients are present in these pills, they lack the vital synergistic benefits.

Other companies are even less ethical. They press their herbs into pills and capsules directly from raw powdered herbs. These products are full of inert plant fibers, and contain little of the active oils. Result? Minimal potency and medicinal value.

• Low Temperature Processing. Plum Flower takes great care to preserve delicate herbal oils, which are first evaporated using either a water or water-alcohol base in a process that never exceeds 100° centigrade.

Sealed vacuum chargers precisely control the temperature, ensuring that none of the oils are lost. Cheaper, high-temperature methods are common industry practice, but these tend to burn off the vital oils.

• Quality Control. The facilities in Lanzhou and Guang Zhou, China, scientifically test each batch of herbs before, during and after the processing to make sure that all the active ingredients are present and that there are no heavy metals present.

Finally, batches are regularly sent out for quality control testing in third-party labs to double-ensure that Plum Flower products are 100% free of pharmaceuticals, preservatives and dyes.

• Good Manufacturing Practice. The Lanzhou and Guang Zhou factories are so clean, they are certified by the Australian Government’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (GMP). These standards are considered the highest for any government agency in the world.
